Discover filmmaking that has a craft story to tell with the third edition of Real to Reel: The Craft Film Festival. Produced by the Crafts Council and Crafts magazine, it’s the first UK festival to highlight extraordinary craft talent and technique through moving image.  The Festival's opening night takes place on Tuesday 8th of May.

A special event on Thursday 10 May delves into the world of puppet making and stop motion animation with a screening and talk from Mackinnon & Saunders. Dedicated to uncovering the astonishing craft and technical skills employed in the production of ground-breaking animation, this talk and screening introduces Mackinnon & Saunders, world leaders in character development for stop-motion puppets. Famed for bringing the world’s best known animated characters to life, including Tim Burton’s ‘Corpse Bride’ and Wes Anderson’s ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’, they will shed light on the processes behind their design and construction. The event includes a premiere of a digitally remastered version of 1992 animation ‘The Sandman’. Presented by Ian Mackinnon. A must-see for animation fans.
