Designer Bookbinders and the St Bride Foundation collaborate on a week of events celebrating fine printing and design bookbinding, including demonstrations, a 3-day workshop, exhibitions and have-a-go sessions.

Throughout the week an exhibition will showcase contemporary designed bookbindings by exhibiting members of Designer Bookbinders, the principle society promoting British contemporary design bookbinding.

A three day workshop "That's the Way to Do It!" – Four Crafts in Three Days will run from Wednesday 9 - Friday 11 May. Students wood-engrave an illustration, set type, print and bind their own page into a small hardback book.

On Saturday 12 May an open day at the St Bride Institute will give visitors the opportunity to try simple bookbinding techniques, watch printing and bookbinding demonstrations and buy bookbinding materials.

11.00 - Susan Allix, "Making Books" a show and tell session.

13.00 - Eri Funazaki, “Intricate ways to create unsellable books”. A practical and philosophical approach towards making artist books, a show and tell session.

15.30; Mark Cockram, Making an artists book using a “drum leaf” technique, demonstration.
